Christina Fernandez, good on ya, sis! You hit the nail right on the head. Yes, to 'a crude colonial power in decline'. They committed atrocities in their colonies & plundered the poor people of India, Africa & the East. Today they feel they've got to go round interfering in other countries as if they own them & constan...more
It's way out of control, no one listens to anything, no learning takes place. Why is money wasted on this? School Heads & top staff suck up to pupils to stay in their good books. One School Head brought 3 big boxes to end of term assembly & randomly shelled out mobile phones, ipods, iphones etc to pupils who attended....more

Just checked my atlas and the Falklands are in the South Atlantic, near S. America! A bit short of Britian, mate. Bet you also think Gibraltar (Gibr Al Tariq = Rock of Tariq) is not part of Spain?
Memory stick left in computer lab, caddish pupil out to dish the dirt on nice lady art teacher (or was there a £££ motive??) ... precocious sleaze & scandal in Harrow's ivied cloisters. Whatever next?

It's all a bit unreal. A hollowed-out loaf of bread stuffed with a jar of jam, a jar of peanut butter and 1 lb bacon. Plus $50,000 to fly Elvis & mates there and back to buy the stuff in his private jet. It's kinda sad, really. What a life. As for the quality of the food he went for, he must've had a death-wish.
Well said, Joanna! She's doing a programme called 'The Cheat' and it's brought certain things to the fore and she's bold enough and articulate enough to speak out. Of course you get howls of derision and a lot of playing the person, not the ball. (Do you really criticise what a person says on the basis of where they ...more
@Aluminium On the other hand, as just another big-mouth arm-chair critic, I suspect the bottom would fall out of your world if ever got near real living yourself. And your 'know-it-all', 'feel nothing' attitude would give way to some serious whingeing.
